Cat Sanctuary Helps Kitties with Special Needs

Meet a cat sanctuary founder who devotes her life to helping cats with serious health conditions

Avalo Cat Sanctuary founder Michelle Donlick has devoted her life to caring for over 350 cats, many of them with severe health conditions. Michelle takes in cats that have been literally thrown away (found in a dumpster), as well as some who have terminal illnesses or are crippled with neurological disabilities or spinal injuries. Several cats need help just to eat or use the litterbox. She works 15-hour days to give her fur babies the best life possible. In this video you'll meet four of Avalo's special cats: Ophi is blind; Rita is an amputee; Akimbo is semi-paralyzed; and Sargenta has cerebellar hypoplasia. Learn how each came to Avalo Cat Sanctuary, as well as the care they require on a daily basis. See more of Michelle and her beloved cats at avalocatsanctuary.com

  1. What a sweet lady. We have three rescue cats. I have the utmost respect for fosters. You can’t help but fall in love with these precious furbabies. And these cats need some extra TLC.
